PENGGUNAAN AYAT-AYAT AL-QUR’AN SEBAGAI MENTRE DALAM TRADISI MASYARAKAT SASAK

The phenomenon of using the verses Qur’an as a mentre (mantra) in traditions Sasak people is still developing today. However, fact that several ways there discrepancy between meaning Qur'anic used and its intended function. These are only because they have same homophone (sound) with dialect or language. This study aimed to reveal how reception use which has phonological similarities (homophones) vocabulary dialect. research data was taken from interviews community leaders Darmaji village, Kopang sub-district, Central Lombok who had in-depth knowledge ministers. qualitative method phenomenological approach an analytical tool. results showed inconsistent (meanings functions did not match) form people's belief power Qur’an. In addition, incompatibility Qur'an adapted based on sound similarity creativity interpreting Qur'an. line that, authors conclude occurs tradition magical space.
